John Schollar - Assistant Editor
A former biology teacher, John Schollar is
co- director of the National
Centre for Biotechnology Education (NCBE). John has conducted
practical courses in school biotechnology in 17 countries for more than
32,000 people since 1986. John was a very active member of EIBE until
that project finished in 2001. He has an honorary doctorate from
Göteborg University.

Dean Madden - Assistant Editor
A former biology teacher, Dean has worked at the NCBE, where he is co-director, since 1990. He was instrumental in the initial work of EIBE and introduced its members to the World Wide Web in 1994. Dean has written several publications for schools, and has recently illustrated a biology textbook for the Danish publisher, Gads. Dean holds an honorary doctorate at Göteborg University.
Dean is
responsible for the original design and layout for Bioscience Explained,
and the structure of Volume 1. He continues his loyal work to spread the
message, via Volvox,
a European Union -supported project.
